Altar Guild Coordinator (or two) needed

We are looking for a new Altar Guild Coordinator or two Co-Coordinators if you want to share the job.  The following is a “job description” for the position.  Please contact the Church Office or Pastor Amanda Warner if interested in assuming this very rewarding position.  If you have any questions please contact Heather Crisafulli, the outgoing coordinator, who will provide training for the new coordinator.

Altar Guild Coordinator Description
The Altar Guild coordinator oversees preparation of the chancel and its furnishings for each worship service.
The primary duties include scheduling two altar guild members a month to:
Prepare and clean up materials for Holy Communion
Change paraments to appropriate colors and hang banners for each church season
Fill the oil candles
Clean and press linens
Put the flowers on the altar and remove after the final service
Polish Silver.
The Coordinator also:
Purchases wine and wafers for Communion
Orders oil for the candles
Orders beeswax candles for the candelabra.
Arranges for maintenance and replacement of brass items, linen, paraments and Communion ware.
The Coordinator also oversees decoration of the church for Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter and the Easter Vigil.
The Coordinator works with the Flower Coordinator for purchase of flowers for Christmas, Easter and Pentecost.
The Coordinator conducts  a welcoming and training meeting each year and communicates regularly with the Pastor.
